The HO
The World's only "Live at Leeds" era Who cover band

The Ho recorded this version of The Who's "Whiskeyman" (written by John Entwistle) on June 27, 2002 - the night The Ox died. The recording session had been scheduled weeks before in order contibute a song for a compilation David Hayes of Very Small Records was putting out called "Drinking about Songs." We heard about it on the radio just before we started and it all felt really intense - like The Ox's spirit was in the room...

As the mood in the studio was a bit somber, nobody thought we got anything decent. However, few days perspective revealed an energetic reworking of the song. Basic tracks were recorded live (take 3) to 6 tracks of ADAT, vocals were added and the song was mixed and in the can in 3 hours.
